The
Cosmochemistry Department consists of several groups of scientists and
technical personnel whose research interests and activities span a wide variety
of fields in cosmochemical and space sciences. These fields include: Isotope-,
Geo- and Cosmochemistry - Isotope Cosmochronology; interaction of cosmic rays
with meteoritic and planetary matter (noble gas isotopic studies); Planetary
Exploration - Moon, Mars and Comets; interstellar grains - stellar
nucleosynthesis.
In addition a large meteorite collection of close to
1250 specimens is maintained to support the Department´s research
effort.
