The research activities of the SIMS
group concentrate mainly on studies of presolar materials found in primitive
meteorites. These materials formed in circumstellar environments and their
isotopic compositions provide important information on a number of
astrophysical processes such as stellar nucleosynthesis and evolution, galactic
chemical evolution, and grain growth in stellar ejecta.
