Evolution of Oceanic Gabbros

Oceanic gabbros form most of the oceanic crustal section, and yet are the least-studied of oceanic crustal and mantle rocks. This has a variety of reasons, some of them purely psychological. One fact is that the grand majority of oceanic gabbros are cumulates that have given up nearly their entire trace element budget to the crust. Thus, for trace element modelling, they are a complicated and difficult set of rocks to work on.
