- 15. November 2001: data workshop for LBA-CLAIRE 2001 in Mainz, 2-3 November 2001
- 11. June 2001: for LBA-CLAIRE 2001 see the IAG Master Home Page
IAG/USP is storing satellite images, trajectories, regional forecast with RAMS, etc, for Manaus, Balbina and Santarem at Santarem 12Z.
You can see the animation of the RAMS simulations by clicking "animacao" (in Portuguese).
In these figures Manaus and Balbina are near the left of the boundary.
If you want to see Satellite Images, click Satellite Images
For Manaus you may want to look at: "Visible - North/Northeast" or "Infrared - North/Northeast".
You will always see the last available image from GOES and a sequence of the last 10 images that can be animated by clicking in "Animacao das images". To stop animation clik in "Parar".
The frequency of images is variable and can run from half an hour to 3 hours dependeing on GOES operations.
Another image that may be useful is the one labeled "Composicao de imagem e analise" where a surface wind and sea level pressure are superimposed on the infrared satellite image for South America.
The global composite of infrared images may be seen if you click in the label "Global - Meteosat - Goes - GMS".
For those of you who like to see the synoptic data there are the following choices at the home menu:
-SYNOP - for surface operational data every 6 hours
-METAR - AEROPORTS - for surface airport data every hour
-RADIOSSONDAGES - for upper air soundings.
For these when you get the map just click at the region you are interested in and a zoom will be displayed with the latest available data.
- 15. January 2001: proposed CONTRIBUTIONS of the LBA-EUSTACH partners to the Special Issue of the Journal of Geophysical Research (JGR), jointly with the LBA-AMC
- July 2000: for submission of Meta Data for the LBA datasets, please use the LBA Metadata Editor (LME) at ORNL or the LBA Metadata Editor (LME) at CPTEC;
if you don't have a LME user ID yet, please mail to ORNL or CPTEC directly
